We recommend you print a HIPAA tab as a paper separator to insert in your charts. All HIPAA related documents such as patient request authorizations, NPP acknowledgement form, PHI disclosure, and public good requests, should be filed behind the separator so if the patient asks for documentation on how you handle their PHI and what disclosures you made, you will have the entire record easily at hand.
