Notice of Privacy Practices

We have provided you with an allergy specific draft of a sample Notice of Privacy Practices (NPP). The HIPAA regulations require you tell your patients how you will deal with their PHI. It is very important that you have reviewed this document before you give it to patients – what you should have been doing for the past year. We recommend you review it (or the similar Notice you are currently using in your practice) once again to make sure that it collates with your current office policies and practices. You may modify it as necessary, but you should make sure that any modifications do not interfere with HIPAA regulations. If you make significant modifications, you must give notice to your patients in the same way you distributed the original document. If you are not using our HIPAA forms and sample documents, you may want to review your modifications with an attorney who is knowledgeable about HIPAA requirements.
