HIPAA Chart Separators

National Identifier Standards

HHS recently announced the initial guidance for implementing the national identifier standards. This will require that each healthcare provider have a single identifier number for all healthcare transactions. This requirement must be fully complied with by May 23, 2007. On May 23, 2005, CMS will begin accepting applications for the identifier number. This section will be expanded when more information is released by CMS.

Again we thank you for participating in this JCAAI Member benefit program and we hope that you are well on the road to HIPAA compliance now that you have completed this program.
